Okey Ndibe is the author of Foreign Gods, Inc. – his second novel, out from Soho Press (click the link for a series of short interviews with Okey) in January 2014. A novelist, journalist and professor of African and African Diaspora literature at Brown University., Ndibe came to the U.S. from his native Nigeria 25 years ago at the behest of none other than the late, great Nigerian writer, Chinua Achebe, and began his time here editing Achebe’s now-defunct magazine, African Commentary.
He earned MFA and PhD degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and has taught at Connecticut College, Bard College, Trinity College, and the University of Lagos (as a Fulbright scholar). He is also the author of Arrows of Rain (set for re-release in the U.S. in January 2015) and has served on the editorial board of Hartford Courant where his essays won national and state awards. He lives in West Hartford, CT, with his wife, Sheri, and their three children.
