Okey Ndibe to Start West Coast Tour at SFSU’s Historic Poetry Center

Thurs, Feb 12: 4:30pm Okey Ndibe will present at The Poetry Center, San Francisco State University – free and open to the public.

The SFSU Poetry Center is a jewel in the history of literary San Francisco and literature in general.  Founded in 1954 when W. H. Auden surrendered his honorarium, today, the Poetry Center is one of the most long-lived literary arts institutions in the United States.

Okey Ndibe

Okey Ndibe is the author of Foreign Gods, Inc. – his second novel, out from Soho Press (click the link for a series of short interviews with Okey) in January 2014.  A novelist, journalist and professor of African and African Diaspora literature at Brown University., Ndibe came to the U.S. from his native Nigeria 25 years ago at the behest of none other than the late, great Nigerian writer, Chinua Achebe, and began his time here editing Achebe’s now-defunct magazine, African Commentary.
